ISIJ International, Special Topics on “Challenges to comprehension for phenomena of degradation, softening, and melting of raw materials in hydrogen-enriched ironmaking process” (Submission deadline: 15th November, 2024)
Advanced hydrogen utilization will be a key technology in next-generation ironmaking processes aiming for low carbon and carbon neutrality, and it is essential to understand the phenomena of degradation, softening, and melting of raw materials under hydrogen-enriched reduction conditions. The knowledge obtained from understanding these phenomena will provide guidelines for the appropriate control of raw materials from the lumpy zone to the cohesive zone in next-generation hydrogen-enriched blast furnaces, as well as the degradation and deformation of raw materials in the H -DRI process.
This special issue aims to strengthen activities in the field of understanding the phenomena of degradation, softening, and melting of raw materials under hydrogen-enriched reduction conditions.
The latest research and reviews from a wide range of perspectives and methods regarding the above are being sought to submission.
